During the retreat we follow the Buchinger fasting method, a gentle and widely practised therapeutic approach developed in Europe. Rather than a strict water-only fast, this method includes small amounts of fresh juices and nourishing vegetable broths each day. This makes the process more supportive and accessible — especially for those new to fasting — while still allowing the digestive system to rest and the body to shift into its natural repair and cleansing processes.
Combined with movement, rest, and time in nature, the body begins to rebalance itself.


Luxury Immersion in Nature
Our retreat is held at Quinta da Tojeira, a historic quinta in the heart of the Douro Valley, surrounded by eight hectares of private forest. It offers the perfect blend of wild nature, tranquillity, and understated luxury.
Relax in the sauna, hot tub, or indoor saltwater pool, or take a dip in the wild natural swimming creek. Wander along woodland paths, sit on quiet terraces with a book, or find private corners for reflection. Donkeys, chickens, and grazing cattle add to the charm, gently reminding you that slowing down is a perfectly natural rhythm.
Being surrounded by nature makes fasting easier. The fresh air, absence of distractions, and private space allow your body to restore, rebalance, and reconnect with its innate rhythms.

Guided Support Before, During & After
Your support begins before you arrive, with pre-retreat preparation calls to help your body transition gently into fasting. We’ll guide you through reducing caffeine, sugar, and heavy foods, and answer all your questions so you feel prepared and confident.
During the retreat, daily check-ins, masterclasses, and personal guidance ensure you feel safe, informed, and supported at every stage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to commit to all 5 days of fasting?
No. There is absolutely no pressure to complete every day. With pre-retreat preparation, daily guidance, and one-on-one support, many women discover they are capable of more than they expected — but you progress only as far as feels right.
Do I need experience with fasting?
No. Many guests are first-time fasters. Guidance is provided before and during the retreat so you feel informed, safe, and confident.
Can I fast if I am on medication?
We provide a one-to-one consultation prior to the retreat to advise safely and responsibly. Your health and safety are our top priorities.
Do I need to be good at yoga?
Not at all. Practices are gentle and restorative, focused on nervous system regulation and personal restoration rather than performance.
Can I come alone?
Yes. Many women attend solo and form meaningful connections in the small group environment.
