Rainforest setting for Roam’s Ayurveda and yoga retreat in Sri Lanka

This Ayurvedic retreat is for you if you want to…

  • Support your wellbeing through a holistic Ayurvedic approach
  • Move beyond generic wellness into personalised, one-to-one care
  • Understand your body through a personalised Ayurvedic assessment
  • Learn how to sustain your wellbeing beyond the retreat
  • Step away from overstimulation, fatigue, and imbalance
  • Return home with practical tools — not temporary relief

This experience is for those ready to actively understand and support their wellbeing, rather than simply step away from everyday life for a week.

A personalised Ayurveda retreat in Sri Lanka

Set within a private rainforest estate in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, this 7-day Ayurveda and yoga retreat offers a deeply individualised approach to wellbeing.

Designed for those seeking nervous system regulation, holistic health, and sustainable lifestyle change, the experience combines traditional Ayurveda, daily yoga, restorative downtime, and one-to-one Ayurvedic care.

At its core is a simple principle: no two people receive the same experience.

Personalised Ayurvedic care

Each guest begins with an in-depth one-to-one consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor, forming the foundation of the week.

From this assessment, a fully tailored plan is created, including diet, treatments, lifestyle guidance, and daily rhythm.

Your experience evolves throughout the retreat through:

  • Initial and follow-up Ayurvedic consultation
  • Individualised treatment planning based on your constitution
  • Two personalised Ayurvedic body treatments

Rather than following a standard group programme, your Ayurvedic care is shaped around you throughout the week.

A place to become your own healer

The intention is long-term: to give you the understanding and tools to support your wellbeing beyond this week.

Through guided education and practical application, you learn how to read your body through Ayurvedic principles and respond with clarity.

You will:

  • Understand your individual constitution (dosha framework)
  • Learn how food, herbs, and routine influence your system
  • Build daily practices that are realistic to maintain at home

Ayurvedic learning & workshops

A defining feature of this retreat is its hands-on Ayurvedic education programme.

You will learn how to:

  • Cook using Ayurvedic principles of digestion, balance, and seasonality
  • Work with medicinal herbs from the on-site garden
  • Apply Ayurvedic principles to modern daily life
  • Understand how everyday lifestyle choices can support greater balance
Each workshop is practical, transferable, and designed for real-life integration.

Medicinal herbal garden experience

Within the estate, a working medicinal herbal garden becomes part of your learning experience.

Here, you will explore:

  • Traditional Ayurvedic medicinal plants
  • Their therapeutic uses and preparation methods
  • How plant-based medicine supports everyday wellbeing

This is experiential learning rooted in place — not theory.

The landscape that holds the experience

Sri Lanka’s central highlands are shaped by forest, elevation, and monsoon rhythm.

Within the rainforest, stimulation naturally softens. Light filters through the canopy. Sound disperses. Attention slows. Without effort, the body begins to settle — responding to environment, space, and rhythm.

The private rainforest estate

The retreat takes place across an 80-acre private rainforest estate designed for stillness and space.

Forest pathways connect open-air pavilions, terraces, and valley viewpoints. An infinity pool overlooks the landscape, offering quiet moments between sessions.

Everything here is designed to reduce external noise and internal overwhelm.

Luxury Villa Suites

Daily yoga & the rhythm of the retreat

Each day follows a gentle rhythm that supports restoration, clarity, and integration.

Mornings begin with daily yoga, meditation, and pranayama in open-air forest settings. These are followed by consultations, treatments, and workshops aligned with your personalised plan.

Meals are prepared according to Ayurvedic principles to support digestion and balance.

Afternoons are intentionally open — allowing time for rest, reflection, or quiet immersion in nature.

Ayurvedic heritage of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has a long-established Ayurvedic tradition, shaped by its biodiversity, climate, and generations of knowledge and practice.

Here, Ayurveda is not theoretical. It is applied — through diagnosis, treatment, food, herbs, and daily rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

Not at all. You do not need any previous experience in Ayurveda, yoga or meditation to join the retreat.

Everything is introduced in an accessible and practical way, while the yoga practices are guided so you can work with your own body and level of experience. The intention is not performance, but to help you understand what supports you and give you practices you can continue to use at home.

Your experience begins with an in-depth one-to-one consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor.

This assessment helps build a picture of your individual constitution, current state of balance and wellbeing needs. From there, your diet, treatments, lifestyle guidance and daily recommendations are tailored to you rather than following a standard retreat programme.

Your plan can also evolve throughout the week as your needs change.

The retreat includes two personalised Ayurvedic body treatments, selected according to your individual consultation and treatment plan.

Rather than offering the same treatment menu to every guest, your Ayurvedic care is guided by what is considered most appropriate for you during the retreat.

Meals are prepared according to Ayurvedic principles, with an emphasis on nourishment, digestion and balance.

Food is an important part of the experience rather than simply an accompaniment to it. You will also explore Ayurvedic cooking and learn practical principles you can take home and apply to your own meals.

If you have dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know before booking so we can confirm how these can be accommodated.

Absolutely. You are very welcome to travel alone.

Although you will share parts of the experience with other guests, the retreat is intentionally kept intimate and much of your Ayurvedic journey is individual to you. There is space for connection when you want it, alongside plenty of time for privacy, rest and reflection.

Yes. If you would like to explore more of Sri Lanka, our dedicated Travel Advisor can help you plan additional travel, experiences and accommodation around the retreat.

You can also ask for support with flight planning before you book.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place, with the remaining balance due by 9 January 2027.

Flexible payment plans are also available. If you would prefer to spread the cost, contact us and we can talk through the available options.

Because the retreat is highly personalised, places are intentionally limited.

Once your place is confirmed, we will guide you through everything you need ahead of the retreat, including practical travel information and preparation for your stay.

Closer to departure, we will also gather the information needed to help us understand your individual requirements so that your experience can be thoughtfully prepared before you arrive.

No pressure – a simple conversation to explore whether the retreat is right for you.

Steph Kemp

“I loved the simple routine of morning yoga followed by an Ayurvedic brunch. I have made space since my return to practise yoga daily, as it brings me so much joy and peace. It’s my second retreat with Roam and it’s been the perfect reset I needed.”
